Asian American Association offers various events and opportunitieswhich both members and non-members can participate. The followings are specific programs designed to facilitate learning and increase cultural awareness. Students with interests in becoming more involved in the organization and develope a stronger understanding of what we do can choose to participate in these programs.

Multimedia Team

Multimedia Team strives to bring Asian American Cultural awareness through various types of media. If you're interested in acting, filming, singing, playing music, recording, graphics design, web design, and etc., then this is for you. Asian American Series is a year long project which strives to deliver powerful and impactful messages through the perspectives of Asian Americans using media. Fashion Show

Fashion show is the LARGEST annual event held by the Asian American Association at the University of Illinois. This will be the 24th annual fashion show, so be sure to join in on this legacy!
Fashion show consists of 7 "scenes" that revolve around different themes, and you can participate in as many or as few as you would like. The scenes are: Runway, Business, Casual, Cultural, Formal, Nightlife, Dance (requires a tryout).
This year's overall theme is MASQUERADE which strives to deal with the issue of being true to yourself and the struggles we face with trying to cover up who we really are, whether it has to do with our identity, culture, or ethnicity. Shadow Program

Interested in learning what it takes to be an officer? Want to know how plan an event on campus? Shadow Program offers students with interests to shadow a committee. Selected shadows will spend 3 months in the Spring semester shadowing a committee and learn what it takes to be an officer. Shadows will attend weekly officers meetings with Execs and current officers, and plan a large scale event with other shadows. Applications and interview times will be available in early November. So please check back often!

Officer Board

Interviews for officer positions are held in late Sping Semester. Get involved fast and early on. Start talking to current officers about your interest, and see how they can help you prepare yourself for an officer position.
